The GALA Awards evening was held in Nairobi on December 6th 2010 and the winners have been announced. SIGMA Electric PLC won 2nd place and 50,000 USD along with other 4 companies.

As per the Award Company, the winning companies demonstrated visionary leadership innovation, strong growth and a company culture to address organizational values. The winning companies also have made an impact within their communities, either by fostering job creation, improved community living standards or by expanding into overseas market.

The 2010 Africa Awards for Grand Prize winner is Craft Silcon Limited.  The company is a Kenya based Indian owned software company. The company won 1st place and awarded 100,000 USD.  There were 2,700 African participators who took part in the Legatum Africa Awards 2010 competition.
SIGMA Electric imprinted its name as the first   Ethiopian Company to win the Legatum Africa Award for entrepreneurship.

SIGMA Electric has celebrated its 10th establishment anniversary with a number of ceremonial events. In its 10 years journey the company turned itself from a simple motor winding company to a multi-disciplinary electromechanical company engaging in a million Birr projects.

The first ceremony was held at SIGMA head office on November 23, 2010. SIGMA staff and family members were all cordially invited to a lunch party, an entertainment program and a photo exhibition. Best employees and Leaders are also awarded a money prize for their paramount contributions and performances. Winners received their prizes from the company’s Manager Ato Temesgen Delibo. More than 80,000 ETB was awarded for winner employees.

The second ceremony was held at Hilton Addis on November 26, 2010. In this cozy cocktail party, company customers, collaborators, suppliers and other stake holders were invited. A panel discussion and a photo exhibition took place. SIGMA awarded a trophy prize to its Loyal Customers, Loyal Suppliers and other Company Partners who have direct or indirect contributions to the 10 years success journey.
